So if the taxes did go up, even for a small amount for the 400K+ group. How can Norquist say this is not a break of his pledge? If he says it ok, he pretty much lost most of his power of the pledge.
His reasoning, at least as I understood it last night, is he will not hold this against any GOP member, so long as they voted earlier this year to make all the rate cuts permanent. In other words, he’s just created a loophole you could drive a Mack truck through.
