Of course they have. The Founders could no more imagine the internet & Facebook or Twitter than they could the AK-47. What we see there is an abuse of the right to free speech. Fortunately, despite the *deaths the abuse has caused, almost nobody calls for any change in the amendment of passage of hate speech law. That amendment is not ever going to get amended or removed.

That’s a bad analogy, since the first amendment doesn’t begin with something like “An independent press being necessary to the freedom of the state…” the way the 2nd begins with “A well-regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state”.

edit: And if it did, the wording wouldn’t be archaic in the modern day, it’d still be highly relevant, unlike the 2nd.
