I know a hell of a lot— and not to the extent of 200 out of 20K men were captured when we captured 10x that number of Germans (and lots more Italians). maybe not much more, but the risks of taking a Japanese prisoner were so great that often, you see them stripped naked in the stockade before being handed over to the provost—just to make sure there were no grenades in their straps. I’m not saying our troops were unjustified—the actions and the orders of the Japanese High Command made it very difficult for their troops to safely surrender.

at Iwo the last remaining Japanese fought it out to the death on the north end of the island…it was a huge problem all throughout the Pacific…I don’t know what to tell you…read more I guess
