I think you & the Dr mis-characterize. Recession after recession over the decades, past many presidents- “adjustments” and “fixes” for the economy undid many safety devices from the 1930’3. Tribal/partisan finger pointing misses the real issue-We never had the maturity as a nation to weather a recession without tinkering with the economy. Short term fixes over long term smart. And that irretrievably crossed the aisle on too many occasions to ignore.
