what’s the solution?…how do we create and maintain a robust manufacturing segment in the US?

That would be a long answer. Quickly it would have to involve higher wages for Americans to be able to afford American made products which can’t compete with overseas wages and working conditions. Somewhere along the way the top 1 percent decided they wanted to make more and more money then ever before in our history. CEOs that don’t perform are payed millions even if they almost drive their company into bankruptcy. Sports players making 22 million dollars a year for bouncing a rubber ball for a fraction of the year. There was a time when a CEOs and Chairmen were happy with a house Connecticut and an apartment in Manhattan. Now, they all want to live like J Paul Getty.
