That’s what I’d read too. And it seems he wasn’t upset so much by the kid getting run over as the lack of concern from his fellow soldiers over the incident. Or so I’ve been led to believe.

Good to keep in mind that whatever he says he saw, or what his journals say, might not be true or might be fictionalizations, too.
