TMIAHM is my go-to reference when RWNJs start bleating about “redefining marriage”. SSM doesn’t “redefine” a goddamn thing—all it does is increase the pool of eligibility by a couple of percent. Now if we were talking about legalizing something like Heinlein’s “line marriage”, that would be a redefinition, and would require completely different laws. I’m not against it, by any means, but I really don’t know how it would work, legally. SSM is literally nothing.
