Stupid question…what were Wayne Simmons’s “prior arrests and criminal convictions”?

And, are we to believe that no one at Faux News or anywhere else ever bothered to run a background check on this guy and never discovered his criminal record?

It’s my understanding (from careful attention paid to spy and undercover cop movies) that such criminal records would be expunged if those crimes were necessary for field operatives to maintain their cover. Maybe that’s all fiction, but at least they should have checked Simmons’ story.
