This is actually every bit as bad as what Nixon actually did do, which was contact the South Vietnamese gov’t to tell them to back away from the peace talks in ‘68, because he was promising them a much sweeter deal if he got elected. LBJ knew about it all, he was absolutely furious about it, but for the good of the nation he kept quiet and allowed Humphrey to get ratfucked into oblivion.

Not to play conspiracy theorist but between this and what’s happened here, is it really so crazy to believe that the infamous Reagan October Surprise of 1980 happened?
