So over 30 years ago, my brother, who’s a fantastic artist, created stipple portraits of my first two kids (from baby photos). Stipple is a technique that uses only dots (no lines).

In a drawing or painting, the dots are made of pigment of a single colour, applied with a pen or brush; the denser the dots, the darker the apparent shade—or lighter, if the pigment is lighter than the surface. This is similar to—but distinct from—pointillism, which uses dots of different colours to simulate blended colours.[1]Wikipedia

My older daughter mentioned to my brother that her younger sister was sad that she never got a portrait. So, despite working insane hours and fighting some health issues, my brother created a portrait for my youngest.

These are true works of art and match the actual photos exactly. Amazing work. The new portrait is below (with his signature removed for privacy). Can’t tell you how thrilled I am that my youngest daughter finally got her own portrait (and how thrilled I am to have a complete set of my kids). Best Christmas present I received.

Zoom in. It’s all dots, done by hand. Over a hundred hours of work.
