As is, we’re in an even stickier legal situation, where there’s nobody who can conclusively say how things started. It’s now become a question of which the jury finds more plausible: the defendant’s version of events or the prosecution’s speculation on what happened.
Well, there is forensics. The physical evidence tells a story, too. But certainly, if Trayvon were alive, we’d have the other part of this story and a jury can more easily decide who’s telling the truth.
