I should have maybe been a bit more clear. True, it’s not a legally binding document (not that that’d matter to some people on the left and right), but as you said, it’s looking at the original intent.

I would argue that they didn’t mean all “men”. Otherwise, why on earth would they use that as justification to institute a government that did not address slavery?

It’s not my intention to belittle the founders. It was a different time and during that time, certain classes of people were seen as “property”.
