re: #643 wheat-dogghazi

Care to offer some specific examples?

There might be an asteroid collision next year. Or a major flu epidemic. Or I might get hit by a bus crossing the street. So, I should stop planning my future now because of “mights”?

Are you man or mouse?

If I could offer a specific example, I’d be less concerned.
One rather general example, which goes back a couple of years, is a weekly newsletter I get emailed from a trade publication. The content is usually new product announcements or trade show schedules. I received one a while back with the headline “Emerging Regulatory Threats”.
One issue for me is that the buggers might introduce some new rule which defines basically harmless products as being “toxic”, with all the associated costs and inconvenience of handling them.
A more general concern is that this country has extremely harsh laws and penalties for “crimes” which should only be civil matters, and which are enforced rather arbitrarily. There’s a book titled “Three Felonies a Day” which you lefties might benefit from reading. ( Haven’t read it myself, but the basic point of the book is something I’m quite familiar with ).
The problem with having an anti-business jackass like Obama in charge of the executive branch of the government is the broad discretionary powers of all the agencies he controls. I just don’t feel like painting a target on my back with “Small business owning sucker” written across it, and then waiting to see what the buggers try to extort from me.
