I don’t believe there was a cover up. At all. I think this is the stuff of freepers (literally). I DO think that at the time, there wasn’t a lot of focus on people sympathetic to Muslims and that piece would have gotten more press if this occurred right now - but McVeigh’s motivation was not 72 virgins, he thought he was starting a revolution against our government, and justified his actions based on whatever he could come up with that he felt was “bad” that the Government did - Iraq, Waco, etc. Heck, he through other “imperialist” countries in for good measure.
