Is that new? I hadn’t heard of Irshad Manji. I bet CL has. I’ll have to ask her. She’s a reformist which I really agree with more than Ali, although I understand Ali’s experience.

Irshad is awesome. Read her book, The Trouble With Islam.

No scare tactics, no craziness, very on the up and up. And some of what she writes about is extremely funny. The part where she shows up to see the al-Aqsa mosque and they thought a man was coming (“Irshad” is apparently like “Pat”) is worth the price of admission.
