I was taught as a child to stand at attention during the National Anthem, place my hand over my heart when the flag passes by, or when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

In school we put our hands over our heart to say the pledge, we stood for the national anthem. That was it there was no saluting, putting a hand over our heart or anything else for the national anthem. It’s just another thing for them to be outraged at.
