re: #63 Anymouse š¹
May was explaining (threatening?) the consequences of rejecting the deal. Either vote it through, or risk a crash-out hard brexit with no deal at all, OR remain in the EU without change at all.
Pretty much everyone sees that no-deal would be a disaster for everyone (except the āhard-brexiteersā).
Staying in is obviously a disaster for everything the hard brexiteers want.
So she was saying āvote for this deal or risk everythingā.
Hence my analogy to a potential suicide pact between hard-brexiteers and remainers.
RE the referendum; legally itās not binding, but it would be a terrible betrayal of promises to simply ignore it because it didnāt go as expected.
Iām neutral, emotionally, on May as a person, but I can see the deal is an effort to try and make a sort of brexit without destroying the economy for a generation. Itās not a bad effort considering the factors stacked up against any deal being achieved at all.
Still donāt like itā¦
