re: #66 ckkatz

In place of my first colonoscopy, I was given a sigmoidoscopy. It doesn’t go up as far and therefore needed no anesthesia. The doc who did it, turned a monitor around so that I could watch and gave me a narrated tour of my lower colon.

I found it kind of interesting.

On the other hand, to paraphrase StoneKettle, “I was in the Army. I have no shame”

When my dad (retired GP) got his first sigmoidoscope in his office, I wrote a song for him…and he loved it so much he sang it to his patients (I get my goofy from somewhere)

You put the sigmoid in
You take the sigmoid out
You put the sigmoid in
And you take a look about
You find yourself a polyp and you pull the sucker out
That’s what it’s all about!
