To a Marxist the masses are a herd animal, to be studied, exploited, used and thrown away.

Which is why they fear and study the middle class, the religious, and the libertarian. These groups, and others, refuse to fuse with the masses; they are a heterogeneous element. When you’re trying to break the social order down into the leaders and the people, these elements become very troublesome.

Soviet Union had a technique they used - famine, purges, death.
Red Guard had their ways - beatings, torture, death
Khmer Rouge had their ways - torture, death

I think these new guys aren’t gonna go all “terminal” like these others. With careful work and study, I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to milk every last drop of wealth and wealth-creation from these “class enemies” without having to destroy the only productive elements within society.

So, higher taxes, more burdensome regulation, and ongoing vilification are the words of the day. Confiscation (already proposed for businesses that go off-shore) can’t be too far behind.
