and if you think you can derive some prediction of future direction from the fact that the margin is narrower now than it was in april, you don’t understand the nature of polls. i could just as easily have said that romney went from being a half a point ahead in oct 2011 to five points behind in march of 2012, but as you can see that trend didn’t “predict” anything
