I have to confess, in my yoot, I voted for —— McGovern. There, I said it. I’m not proud of it but I was taken in by the “everybody gets paid” blarney. Not having been employed for long nor had any idea what havoc such an idea would have on the economy. Then Nixon imploded and I became distracted by TRYING TO KEEP MYSELF FED!

I voted for Car.. [cough]. Just once. Actually before that in intermediate school I was a Nixon kid. Used to have his stickers and bring them to school. I was the odd man out in that sense. Used to carry around Lou Drendel aircraft books and AF and Navy brochures.
