As someone who has studied 20th century history extensively, it feels like a lot of the same mistakes are being made here. My generation won’t be the one to save us. I have more hope for my niece’s.

History doesn’t repeat, it rhymes. The mistakes look the same, but at a higher-tech-level. The communication, the democratization of information, the realizations that all the various peoples have more in common than different, that all the genders have more in common than different—it’s forcing the power-hungry to panic in their search for new tools. They’re trying the new Trump model of leader, but finding it too difficult to keep in control. They thought he could relate to the generations, because he can tweet, but they can’t shut him up without blowing a fuse, or whatever they call it these days.
