Germany has tried Energiweinde, spending something like 400 billion Eu over the past fifteen years or so building out solar farms and wind turbines and trash-burning plants while shutting down their non-CO2 nuclear power plants. The result? The most expensive retail electricity in Europe, still lots of lignite-burning power plants and the Nord Stream II pipeline to import even more Russian natural gas to prevent brown-outs and black-outs on their stressed electricity grid.
