Bear in mind that states that decide to start enforcing bans by barring free travel of women are not going to just set up checkpoints. They’re going to start gathering data: medical data, financial data, social media, online transactions, so on and so forth. They’re going to know where you live, where you work, who your doctor is, what medication you’ve been prescribed, and (yes) even when your cycle is and if you’ve bought either feminine hygiene products or a pregnancy test this week. The far reach of modern technology means they won’t just be checking long lines of women, they’ll swipe your ID and if the system has flagged you as potentially pregnant then they’ll pull you aside to be examined.

The sad part? They won’t even have to expend the effort to snoop on most women in order to acquire that data, because plenty of companies will gladly sell it to them for a fee.
