I think this is an interesting window in modern journalistic ethics. Most news outlets had the common sense to report them as neo-NAzis but the segment producer (I’m not sure if the newsreader is doing her own reporting here, I think she was just reading the script) just repeated the talking points he was given from the group. It’s common in reporting to avoid angering their viewers. Republican spokesman says “x” while Democrats say “y”. Avoiding critical fact checking means both dems and Reps will be equally happy (or unhappy) with the coverage and avoids the appearance of bias from the reporter.
This just took the stupid and lazy “fair reporting” ethic to an absurd level.
