The guy getting in Nathan Philips’ face is clearly doing it at least in part to impress his buddies. If you’re a guy, you will remember this dynamic from high school. This is why you have chaperones, one of whom should have collared this kid and dragged him off to lecture him on respecting others, because there’s nothing quite like being publicly treated like the child you are by an authority figure in front of your buddies and those you are disrespecting to embarass a kid like that.

The whole “chaperone” thing is a delusion. When the Alabama girl was killed in Aruba, the chaperones were rumored to be MIA. Our HS band director took a bus of kids to DC for a concert opportunity, and dropped them off all over the area. My daughter and another girl shared their hotdogs with a homeless guy in LaFayette Park.
