That is an interesting idea, but I cannot see either side agreeing to it. It used to be that Democrats and Republicans could agree on things when the shooting starts. Of course, the wars that we have been entangled in since 1945 have not been as clear cut as previous conflicts. We had no choice in WWII…WWI we did, but both sides rallied around the country. Vietnam? That ripped this country apart. Gulf War I was too short and Gulf War II is turning out to be too long. I just get very upset when either side starts using a conflict to make political hay. If the Republican suddenly started ripping Obama like the Dems did Bush over Iraq or Afghanistan, I would be just as upset.
