The PC/super-sensitive stuff (claims of racism that are tenuous, for example) turns some people who would otherwise be sympathetic to the need for (or at least admitting the rationality of) affirmative action, etc…, into opponents of same. Human nature.

Well, there are tactical plans and strategic plans and even common sense plans and hope for the best.
