Gah, there are TONS of fire ants in Texas and the worst part about those little suckers is they don’t bite right away—they wait until a bunch have crawled onto you, then they all bite at once. Thankfully, I haven’t run into any here on the East Coast. Then again, I’ve never lived in the burbs up here and the urban areas are mostly concrete, so there’s no place for them to build their nests.

There are not nearly as many creepy, crawly, stingy, poisonous things up here as there are down in TX, but you know what you have a bunch of up here that they don’t have in TX? Those biting flies—I hate those things.
