RIGHT THEN! I am a firm adherent to Occam’s Razor: “Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.” Now, that’s not to say Republicans aren’t evil, because they are; but they’re also shockingly, almost criminally stupid. This was a poorly-thought-out attempt to kill off the pension program by attaching it to something much more valuable and necessary, but they got caught. They thought they were saving money and screwing over working-class Americans - a double feature - but they were too stupid to pull it off.
