It makes no sense, since Bibi’s not in a position to form a new govt. Ganz has his chance to form a govt without Bibi, which opens the door to Bibi’s indictment (along with his wife, who is already under indictment). This means the Palestinians have nothing to lose by stepping up fighting, and Israel no longer has the US around to be a neutral arbiter (or a “neutral” arbiter). It just means more chaos and a lack of understanding of the issues.

More conflict wont lead to a peaceful resolution here. It just means that the extremist factions in Israel will point to any hostility by Hamas or other terror groups as reason to build still more settlements, making a peace deal ultimately impossible.

Of course, there’s a religious component here too - Israel is a lynchpin in Evangelical End Times apocalyptic visions. More conflict would be to their favor/benefit - even if they’ll learn the hard way there’s no Rapture and they’re not going to heaven for fomenting violence and chaos via Trump.
