Curious as to your view of Andrew Sullivan on the matter. He’s been getting the antisemite label thrown at him a lot lately.

And as per my own views… Is it antisemitic to believe that there should be a settlement freeze outside of ‘67 borders? I’m pretty much of the views of Ehud Barak. Besides that they are their own sovereign country and can do what they please. The middle east and the world is better off with their continued existence and prosperity.

That part of Israeli policy gets a little stickier. Why would someone not support Israel building on their own land? Actually I think it comes from a lot of ignorance. People don’t know which areas they’re talking about.

Settlement is the wrong word. These are not settlements. They are Jewish towns with schools and groceries, houses and industry. They number about 200,000 people total. They are not even disputed territories. They were never on the negotiating table. They were never offered to the Arabs.

Here’s a good article showing the Arab and Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem and a few debunking of myths regarding “settlements.”
