Technically, an employer doesn’t have to offer health insurance at all, IIUC, and I’m seeing more and more employers who don’t offer benefits, as a way to cut costs. (Thereby catastrophically raising them for the employees, of course.)

This sort of crap will fly better in this economy, since more people will take what they can get.

Yep, I was arguing with a wingnut the other day about “Obamacare,” and he brought up that his company covers insurance even in retirement. But then muttered a short while later that that’s only for him and the older folks, that most of the new hires no longer that as even an option.
