Why do continue to believe that Romney has some magical hidden good side to him? Is there any actual basis for that belief, except that most people don’t think that it’s true so you’ll take the contrarian position?

Romney’s record, even as governor, is pretty conservative. Where are you seeing the ‘decent guy’?

And how do you square that belief with the fact that he is, you know, actually running as the GOP candidate, with the GOP being the atavistic, raving bunch of nutbars that it is these days?
