It’s the H0-Ho’s that will be missed.

Just because mismanagement over the years and changing tastes ran Hostess (formerly known as Interstate Brands) into the ground for good (sorry, “free-market” wingnuts…you can’t pin the blame on their unions for this) doesn’t mean that some of the more popular Hostess marques won’t survive.

I’m sure that Grupo Bimbo (Colonial bread, Entenmann’s) might snatch some of them up; they’ve been making a big splash in the American market over the past few years, taking over Sara Lee’s bakery operations a while back (they already hold, among other things, the rights to Wonder Bread in Mexico). Flower Foods (Sunbeam, Bunny, and Nature’s Own breads, Tastykake, Mrs. Freshley’s) and McKee Foods (Little Debbie) are probably gonna want a shot at Hostess’ brands and assets as well.
