This time we have admitted Al Qaeda Iraq involvement with the rebels. What a mess.

The whole Arab Spring is looking like a giant mess. The security situation in Egypt continues to deteriorate. There were more kidnappings and a tourist got killed this weekend. Libya doesn’t look like it going to end up as a bastion of freedom and peace. It really looks like there are no good fixes for the region. It’s either dictators which we can bribe into being peaceful or hives of terrorist activity. Not much realistic hope of something in between.
