I actually didn’t buy an 8-track until after I had owned a cassette. I liked being able to put the tape in and it would just play and play and play. reverse wind cassettes didn’t come out right away and they were too spendy for me then. People would look at me weirdly when I’d brag on my 8 track.

My brother would record vinyl to 8 track, and the LOUD clunks on playback as the heads changed tracks drove me up the wall.
