I have never understood how a war is ‘illegal’. Object to the Iraq war all you like, it’s not hard to do. I may join in. But illegal? The UN’s record on human rights is pretty slipshod, and they have no meaningful legal authority on this. A constitutionally elected president started it. Congress had a quorum of members present when they voted on it. The parliamentarian of Congress raised no procedural objections. It was many things, but it was also legal.
