Bush’s wife is from Mexico, but Colomba has stayed out of the spotlight as much as possible during his previous entire political career. She is said to be a very devout Catholic, and no doubt is the reason he converted.

I don’t think she’ll change her previous stance, making only a few tentative appearances if and when he gets the nomination, but no doubt he will mention his family as being “Hispanic” and try to convince Latinos that he, too, is “one of them”. I don’t think it’s going to work all that well, though, maybe among some segments, but not the majority, Latinos being 17% of the US population, a pretty large voting bloc and very diverse as well.
