Light treason is still treason.

There’s no light criming here either.

He engaged in criminal acts. He engaged in a conspiracy to commit criminal acts. He furthered the conspiracy. One of those co-conspirators admits to committing crimes, which means that Trump is also in jeopardy for those criminal acts as a co-conspirator.

It doesn’t matter that Trump never succeeded in getting a deal for the Trump-Russia building just as it doesn’t matter that he didn’t get emails/dirt from the Russians at the June 2016 meeting.

It was the act of meeting to seek out the materials that was improper. Lying about the meeting and the coverup was a separate conspiracy/obstruction of justice.

Each successive act of lying/covering up proves the obstruction case.

Trump doesn’t know or care and is betting that the GOP doesn’t care either. They’re all too happy to let this continue.

That makes them complicit as well, since they know and have an obligation to protect the nation from threats foreign and domestic and to uphold the Constitution and right now the GOP is ignoring all that for the sake of party politics.
