That fact that decide not to follow the law doesn’t mean you get to ignore the consequences of that act. Law is not a set of rules that must be obeyed, but a set of punishments for breaking them. If you can more easily live with that punishment than with following the law, go ahead.

If you feel deeply opposed to giving out birth control medication, then don’t. Just don’t expect to keep your job. If you are deeply opposed to paying taxes which support war, don’t. Just don’t expect to stay out of prison.

I see nothing incompatible with choosing to break the law and living in a democracy, heeding elections or respecting the court system. In general, civil disobedience actually requires a greater respect for the rule of law than blind adherence of it, because you are expecting to have to deal with the consequences of that act.
