OK, I don’t know the full details here, but looking over the website in question it is clear that its purpose is to reveal everything about Mormonism to be a hoax or worse. So the characterization of the site as trying to foster open discussion about Mormonism is clearly false: it aims to actively debunk. The site even links to the site of a couple of ex-Mormons who claim that there is a Satanic murderous cult within the Church hierarchy.

The page about Mitt Romney asks the question whether Romney’s religion would require a President Romney to answer to the Pope LDS Leadership.

So I guess if one believes in excommunicating people from your religion, then this seems like the kind of website that might justify it.
