I don’t understand the reasoning—is it better for two to die than one? It would have been tragic for the parents to lose the baby, and now the tragedy has been doubled with the death of the mother. A completely unnecessary death.

The reasoning is that God is the ultimate decision maker. If both live, if one loves, if both die it doesn’t matter. What does matter is non-interference by us because we don’t get to choose who lives and who dies.

(Note: These aren’t my own viewpoints, I was simply answering the question)
