Because there was a concerted effort here in the South to keep that shit alive for the last 148 years.

Lincoln was a tyrant worse than Hitler, the North were an invading army that trampled all over states that just wanted the right to continue owning and dehumanizing other human beings their freedom, and The South Will Rise Again, yee haw. :-P
