Well, the usual objection to the death penalty of some doubt about innocence or racism would not apply in the is case, and it’s a hard one to object to. Still, on balance, maybe life without parole would be the better option.
I honestly don’t see any reason to pursue the death penalty. There’s no chance of him ever seeing the outside world again and putting him on death row just means the Feds will now spend more money fighting against appeals for years to come.
