In regard to the Jerusalem issue:

I am inclined to act like a Parent or Pre-school teacher. If all parties cannot play nice with the toy, The toy is taken away and NO ONE gets to play with it.

I’ve thought about creating a situation similar to the DMZ win N/S Korea, but I’m not smart enough to think that thru.

Make the whole area a World Historical Site —overseen by the UN, Preserve it for future generations?

Wasn’t that Clancy’s solution in _Sum Of All Fears_? Turned it over to a board of holy men representing all three religions.* And then arranged for them to get Swiss mercenaries as their neutral policing force.

* - I presume this would get messy in reality since it’s not really three groups. He sort of ignored the splintered reality of the various sects.
