What do you use to keep supplying water to the town, and keep the pressure up?

Currently, one of the two water well pumps is switched to β€œmanual” (meaning it runs continuously). The water tower is now cut out of the water system, so the well is pressurising the town directly.

However, the well pump pushes water at a far higher rating than our village water system pipes (and home pipes) are rated, hence the relief valves on the fire hydrants. (If the pressure in the water system gets too high, then the valves open and release pressure via the hydrants.)

Normally the water pumps push water directly up the water tower. After cutting the water tower out of the system, we opened the cross-connect valve at the tower to connect the pumps directly to the water system.
