Ok, all in good fun, (although, personally I don’t find the deaths of even bad people,
“fun”).

But the point of the famous “attack through the minefield” quote from a Russian general was that the minefield is there for a reason. It’s to stop the advance, allow enemy forces, for example artillery, to destroy you while you hesitate.

What do you do when you’re ambushed? You attack. Running into a minefield is an ambush.
