I just ran across a couple of tweets from Mark Ames wherein he complains that as soon as AI and CBS produce “credible” accusations against Ukraine the CIA and other propaganda outfits start up their discrediting operations. I know he and Taibbi have mixed feelings about their past in Russia, but they definitely have some kind of nostalgic connection (I wouldn’t call them tankies). I want to say, “yeah I have a friend who loved Russia so much he gave up his US citizenship and went all in on a business empire in cosmetics there and now Putin has confiscated his wealth and he’s in jail without even hope of some US intervention.” Those guys are still wearing Kremlin lenses in their glasses.
