It’s that age old question, especially in the internet age. Are there more of them now, or have they always been there and are now “becoming emboldened”, some combination of the two.

There were just as many anti-Semites in Germany before the Nazis— maybe a few fewer— but the antisemitism then actually enacted by the Nazis was of a different sort. To go ahead and use the Godwin analogy right off the bat.
